A LITTLE ABOUT THE INSPECTOR

MIKE KLATT

Mike has been in construction, renovations and property maintenance for over 15 years and has been a home inspector since 2013. Mike grew up in the industry, both his father & grandfather introduced him at a young age to construction and contracting through their family business.

By being submersed in building, fixing and maintenance at an early age and by completing hundreds of home inspections every year, Mike has the advantage of witnessing pretty much everything that can go wrong in a house. He takes great pride in helping people understand those problems and instructs home owners on how to properly maintain and avoid problems them in the future.

What makes Mike unique is his ability to use simple and understandable terms when explaining the details of the home inspection. Unlike some Home Inspectors, Mike enjoys when clients follow him around, ask questions and get involved with the home inspection. He likes the challenge and if he runs into a question that he cannot answer, he will not rest until he has exhausted his resources and found the answer.

Mike is also doubly educated! He has completed schooling with both AHIT (American Home Inspectors Training Institute) and CAHPI (Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors). Mike is an active accredited CAHPI member and has reached the level of RHI (Registered Home Inspector).

WHY IS THE STATUS OF AN RHI INSPECTOR SO IMPORTANT?

RHI members have demonstrated their proficiency by performing no fewer than 250 fee-paid inspections in accordance with the CAHPI Standard of Practice; they have also passed a series of written examinations testing their knowledge of residential construction, inspection techniques, report writing, and the Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics. Members carry mandatory Errors and Omissions insurance. Retaining membership requires each Member to earn 40 continuing education credits every two years. A fully accredited CAHPI Member has achieved the status of Registered Home Inspector.
